Pakistan's Punjab Government introduces a Rs9 billion scheme to support farmers with loans and inputs.

The Punjab Government of Pakistan has launched the "Chief Minister's Kissan Card" scheme to enhance agricultural productivity, with a budget of Rs9 billion for FY25. This initiative allows farmers to buy agricultural inputs worth Rs30,000 per acre, with a maximum of Rs150,000 payable after six months, supported by interest-free loans. However, it currently only reaches 500,000 out of four million farmers, raising sustainability concerns due to limited funding and outreach.
