The Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway widening project is set to start in January 2025, with an estimated cost of RM2.1 billion. The project will cover 45.3 kilometers, adding lanes and constructing a new two-lane tunnel. Originally planned for mid-2024, it was delayed due to shareholder changes. The construction will take four years, aiming for completion by 2029, and is intended to alleviate congestion during peak travel times.
