Former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa was arrested for allegedly diverting N1.3 trillion in funds.

Ifeanyi Okowa, former governor of Delta State and 2023 PDP Vice Presidential candidate, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly diverting N1.3 trillion from the state’s derivation fund between 2015 and 2023. He faces accusations of failing to account for these funds and using N40 billion to buy shares in UTM Floating Liquefied Natural Gas. His arrest is part of a broader crackdown on financial corruption among former governors.
