California aims to increase sustainable aviation fuel production to 200 million gallons by 2035.

California is collaborating with Airlines for America and the California Air Resources Board to boost sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production to 200 million gallons by 2035, which would meet 40% of in-state flight demand. Currently, the state produces 11 million gallons annually. This initiative aims to reduce air travel emissions and improve air quality, aligning with federal goals to cut aviation emissions by 20% by 2030 and transition to sustainable jet fuel by 2050.
