Retailers are stocking oversized TVs, anticipating growth as prices drop and home viewing rises.

As the holiday season nears, retailers are stocking supersize TVs, with some exceeding 8 feet in width. Despite making up only 1.7% of U.S. TV sales revenue in early 2022, analysts see potential for growth in this segment due to improved technology and reduced prices—averaging $3,113 for TVs over 97 inches, down from $6,662. The trend has been fueled by increased home viewing during the pandemic, with larger models now competing with home theater projectors.
