Vancouver will close the CRAB Park shelter on November 7, giving residents a week to vacate.

The City of Vancouver will close the temporary sheltering area at CRAB Park on November 7, giving the last seven residents a week to vacate or dismantle their tents daily. While overnight sheltering will still be permitted, tents must be taken down by 8 a.m. The city has ensured that each resident has access to housing, health services, and support. The encampment began in 2021 and had been previously protected from eviction due to a lack of indoor shelter spaces.
