Intel will develop Arc GPUs but shift future CPUs to off-package memory due to cost concerns.

Intel has committed to developing its Arc GPUs and announced that future Panther Lake and Nova Lake CPUs will not feature on-package memory, reverting to traditional off-package designs. CEO Pat Gelsinger cited financial sustainability concerns and high costs linked to external memory sourcing as reasons for this change. While the Lunar Lake processors included integrated memory, they will remain a niche product, and Intel will focus on improving its CPU and GPU production efficiency.
