A report from the Banking and Payments Federation Ireland highlights a significant decline in productivity within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly in construction (29%) and accommodation (14%) since late 2019. While the overall Irish economy has shown growth, challenges such as rising costs and increased consumer prices have pressured SMEs. The BPFI recommends long-term investments in training and technology to enhance productivity, shifting away from one-time support measures.
