Northwest Iowa saw its first snowfall of the season on Halloween, with minor accumulations reported.

On Halloween morning, parts of northwest Iowa experienced unexpected snowfall, marking the state's first flakes of the season. National Weather Service meteorologist Rod Donavon noted that light snow fell in Northern Iowa and south-central Minnesota, leading to minor accumulations that were expected to melt later. The storm also brought heavy rain and significant temperature drops, though no tornado touchdowns were confirmed despite warnings in five counties.
