A major factory fire in Ōtāhuhu, South Auckland, prompted evacuations and train service suspensions.

A large factory fire broke out in Ōtāhuhu, South Auckland, around 3:20 PM on Friday. Fire and Emergency New Zealand responded with 15 fire trucks to combat the blaze, which engulfed a 30x12 meter building on McGee Street. Residents are advised to stay indoors with windows closed due to smoke. Train services between Ōtāhuhu and Middlemore are suspended temporarily. The fire has been contained, and crews are now addressing hotspots.
