Ireland's broadcasting regulator, Coimisiún na Meán, will end the 1997 broadcast moratorium preventing election-related information from airing the day before voting. Instead, an "Additional Care Requirement" will be implemented, urging broadcasters to handle potentially misleading information with caution during the 24 hours before polling and while voting occurs. Guidelines for fair and impartial coverage will follow the announcement of the next election date.
