The Indian government has launched the 'Namo Drone Didi' scheme, aimed at providing drones to 14,500 Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) from 2024-2025 to 2025-2026. With a budget of Rs. 1261 Crores, the initiative will enable SHGs to offer drone rental services for agricultural tasks like applying fertilizers and pesticides. The scheme includes 80% financial assistance for drone purchases, training for operators, and a robust monitoring system to ensure effective implementation.
