A Chicago officer was injured in a hit-and-run while directing traffic; investigation ongoing.

A Chicago police officer was injured in a hit-and-run while directing traffic during a gathering in the South Shore neighborhood early Friday morning. At approximately 1:30 a.m., a white sedan struck the officer's leg before fleeing the scene. The officer received on-site treatment and was later released. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing by Area Two detectives.
