American swimmer Kate Douglass, 22, set a new world record in the women's 200-meter breaststroke at the 2024 World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Singapore, finishing in 2:12.72. This performance surpassed her previous record by 1.44 seconds and makes her the only swimmer to complete the event in under 2:12. Douglass also won the women's 100m medley and has an impressive record of 15 NCAA titles. She is considering competing in the 2028 Olympics.
