California and Airlines for America partner to increase sustainable aviation fuel availability to 200 million gallons by 2035.

California has partnered with Airlines for America to boost sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) availability to 200 million gallons by 2035, meeting about 40% of intrastate travel demand. Currently, the state produces around 11 million gallons annually. This initiative aims to combat climate change and improve air quality, aligning with federal goals to reduce aviation emissions by 20% by 2030 and replace kerosene-based jet fuel by 2050.
