The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating the suspicious drowning of a five-year-old girl at Moonlight Bay, Wabumun Lake, on October 13. Initially reported as a canoe accident, authorities later clarified that the boat did not capsize. The girl, along with a 35-year-old woman, was involved in the incident.
