Transmission Company Victoria reveals preferred route for 240km VNI West line connecting western Victoria renewable projects, facing local opposition.

Transmission Company Victoria (TCV) has unveiled the preferred route for the 240km VNI West transmission line, connecting renewable energy projects in western Victoria to the national grid. The project, however, faces backlash from local landowners over inadequate consultation and potential impacts on agriculture and the environment. TCV plans to hold community sessions in November and has proposed compensation of up to $40,000 for affected residents. Construction is slated to begin in 2026.
