Maersk signs long-term bio-methanol supply agreement with LONGi to reduce emissions in vessel fleet.

Maersk has signed a long-term agreement with LONGi Green Energy Technology to source bio-methanol for its dual-fuel container vessels, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The bio-methanol, produced from agricultural residues in Xu Chang, China, will meet sustainability standards with at least a 65% reduction in emissions compared to fossil fuels. This deal supports Maersk's goal of fulfilling over 50% of its methanol needs for its fleet by 2027.
