6 genes linked to cancer risk identified in study by deCODE genetics and Amgen researchers.

Researchers from deCODE genetics and Amgen have identified six genes linked to cancer risk in a study published in *Nature Genetics*. They analyzed genetic data from over 130,000 cancer cases and 733,000 controls, discovering four genes (BIK, ATG12, TG, CMTR2) associated with increased cancer risk and two (AURKB, PPP1R15A) linked to decreased risk. These findings could enhance cancer screening and treatment strategies.
