Jacob Jermaine Alpough, 42, from Port Arthur, Texas, has been sentenced to 6.5 years in federal prison after a search of his home uncovered cocaine and a loaded firearm. Alpough, a convicted felon with three prior felony convictions, pleaded guilty to drug and firearms charges. The case was part of the Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative aimed at reducing violent crime. The sentencing was announced by the U.S. Attorney's Office.
