Sweden's economy contracted for the second consecutive quarter, with a 0.1% decline in the third quarter following a 0.3% drop in the second quarter. This unexpected downturn contrasts with economists' forecasts for a 0.4% recovery. Year-on-year, GDP also fell by 0.1%. Despite the economic slowdown, retail sales increased by 2.7% in September, up from 0.3% in August. Official GDP data will be released in August 2022.
