The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is investigating a fertiliser cartel linked to RM1.8 billion in contracts for paddy fertiliser distribution. Raids were conducted at the cartel's headquarters, a ministry, and nine associated companies. The inquiry focuses on potential corruption in contract procurement and abuse of power. MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki indicated that the investigation may result in arrests under the MACC Act 2009.
