Asian Development Bank launches $100m biodiversity bond, supported by Japan's Dai-ichi Life Insurance.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has launched its inaugural biodiversity and nature theme bond, raising around $100 million to support projects in Asia and the Pacific. Announced at the 16th Conference of the Parties for Biodiversity in Colombia, the 10-year bond was purchased by Japan's Dai-ichi Life Insurance and arranged by Credit Agricole CIB. This initiative aligns with ADB's forthcoming Environment Action Plan 2024-2030 to combat climate change and biodiversity loss.
