A study from UCLA Health found a connection between childhood attention issues and an increased risk of psychotic-like experiences in adulthood. Analyzing data from about 10,000 children over six years, researchers noted that attention span variability explained 4-16% of the relationship between genetic risk for neuropsychiatric disorders and psychotic symptoms. These findings could inform early intervention strategies for psychosis in youth.
