Pacific International Lines (PIL) successfully completed the inaugural LNG bunkering for its first gas-powered container ship, Kota Eagle, at Shanghai's Yangshan port on October 26, 2024. The vessel took on approximately 8,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG). This operation aligns with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and supports the International Maritime Organization's goal for net-zero emissions by 2050. Kota Eagle will next travel to Ningbo and Latin America.
