Twelve door guardian statues have been discovered at the north gate of the ancient Royal Palace in Angkor Thom, Cambodia's Angkor Archaeological Park. The find, announced by the Apsara National Authority, occurred during an excavation aimed at studying the gate's structure. These sandstone statues, believed to represent the Khleang style from the 11th century, vary in size and will undergo cleaning and restoration before being returned to their original locations.
