Hunter rescued, injured in Madison County, transported by UTV and helicopter to local hospital.

A hunter was rescued by the Butte-Silver Bow Fire Department in Madison County, south of Melrose, on Saturday night after sustaining an injury and being unable to descend the mountain. At around 9:30 p.m., the fire department used a UTV to transport the hunter to a landing zone for a helicopter airlift to a local hospital. Officials stressed the importance of preparedness in remote areas, including informing someone of your plans and carrying a phone or GPS for emergencies.
