A fire early Monday morning in Winnipeg, Manitoba, destroyed two homes and resulted in the death of a cat. The blaze began at a two-storey house on Redwood Avenue and spread to an adjacent home. Firefighters contained the fire within an hour, and most residents had evacuated prior to their arrival. The City of Winnipeg's Emergency Social Services team provided temporary housing for displaced families. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
