Two Hamilton-area hospitals will offer Beyfortus, a preventive treatment for Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), starting this fall for infants up to 24 months. This monoclonal antibody injection protects against RSV, which can cause severe illness in young children. It has shown to reduce hospitalizations by 80%. The treatment will be available to eligible infants at no cost, marking a significant step in safeguarding vulnerable populations from RSV.
