Zara Lachlan, a 21-year-old from Cambridge, has begun a solo rowing expedition from Lagos, Portugal, to French Guiana, aiming to cover 3,600 nautical miles in about 90 days. If successful, she will become the first woman to row solo from Europe to South America and the youngest person to complete this challenge. Lachlan hopes to inspire women to pursue fitness, while facing the demanding journey of rowing up to 20 hours daily and losing a significant amount of weight.
