Pokagon Band receives $5M EPA grant for greenhouse gas emission cuts on tribal properties.

The Pokagon Band of Pottawatomi has received a $5 million Climate Pollution Reduction Grant from the EPA to cut greenhouse gas emissions. The funds will enhance eco-friendliness on tribal properties through solar panel installations, electric vehicle transitions, and HVAC upgrades. Owning over 6,000 acres, the tribe has prioritized energy efficiency and will spend six months assessing their plan for the grant. The Nottawaseppi Huron Band also received funding.
