Nox, a peregrine falcon hatched at UC Berkeley's Campanile tower, has died from an unknown illness shortly after being released back into the wild following surgery for a broken wing. Nox, also called Equinox, was one of four chicks born to Annie, a long-time resident of the tower. The falcon’s life was streamed via webcam, attracting many bird enthusiasts. Despite receiving medical care, Nox could not be saved, and the cause of death is still under investigation.
