A tree was dedicated in Owen Sound to honor Sharif Rahman, a downtown businessman killed in October 2023. About 50 attendees gathered for the ceremony, including Rahman's widow, Shayela Nasrin, who expressed gratitude for community support during their loss. The oak tree symbolizes strength and compassion, reflecting Rahman's legacy. Posthumously awarded the 2023 YMCA Peace Medallion, he is also commemorated through the Sharifur Rahman Memorial Scholarship Fund and community fundraising efforts.
