The Lumberton Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon near NC Highway 211 and Saddletree Road. A man was found outside his vehicle with gunshot wounds shortly before 4 p.m. He was taken to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. Detectives and crime scene investigators are on the case, urging anyone with information to contact the police at 910-671-3845.
