Sandra Rollings-Magnusson, an Alberta professor, has released "Folklife and Superstition: The Luck, Lore and Worldviews of Prairie Homesteaders," examining the social and cultural life of Canadian prairie settlers from 1867 to 1914. The book draws on over 260 firsthand accounts, highlighting community bonds amid cultural differences, daily life practices, and the playful nature of homesteaders. It was published by Heritage House Publishing on September 3.
