University of Chicago study shows traditional gender norms linked to under-recognition and treatment of cardiovascular disease risk factors in men.

Analyzing data from over 12,300 individuals, researchers found that these individuals often avoid healthcare and medication, linking sociocultural pressures to poorer health outcomes. The findings call for greater societal empathy to improve health behaviors among men.
