13-lb Houdini dog, Scrim, injured but not seriously, captured in New Orleans after six-month evasion; to be adopted by New Orleans Animal Welfare Society.
Scrim, a mixed-breed dog nicknamed "Houdini" for evading capture for six months in New Orleans' Mid-City, has finally been apprehended using a tranquilizer dart. Weighing 13 pounds, Scrim suffered injuries, including a missing ear chunk and abrasions, along with two projectiles lodged in his body. A veterinarian deemed his condition not serious. Initially rescued from a dog pound, he will be adopted again once fully recovered by the New Orleans Animal Welfare Society.
