On Thursday morning in Labette County, Kansas, a 27-year-old woman driving a Ford Escape rear-ended a horse-drawn buggy on U.S. 400. The buggy's occupants, 35-year-old Elizabeth Schwartz and her 16-year-old passenger, Priscilla Schwartz, sustained serious injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the SUV, Landin Rayne Knickerbocker, was unharmed and wearing her seatbelt. The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
