South Carolina judge expunges arrest records of 7 Black men from 1960 civil rights sit-in.
A South Carolina judge has expunged the arrest records of seven Black men arrested in 1960 for a civil rights sit-in at a whites-only lunch counter. The ceremony, attended by around 150 people, honored the men, two of whom were present, while others were represented by white roses. This action follows a trend of clearing records for older civil rights activists as their legal battles from the past are being addressed.
