Potawatomi Zoo introduces Andean bear siblings, Ian and Sean, from Smithsonian National Zoo to support conservation efforts.

The Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend, Indiana, has introduced two Andean bear brothers, Ian and Sean, aged nearly two, from the Smithsonian National Zoo. This move supports the Andean Bear Species Survival Plan aimed at conservation. As a vulnerable species due to habitat loss and poaching, the zoo hopes to raise awareness and contribute to species preservation through potential breeding. The bears will remain together, separate from the zoo's first Andean bear, Muniri.
