In Polk County, Florida, deputies fatally shot 41-year-old Adayn Rodriguez during a standoff after he threatened to kill himself and his wife, 35-year-old Karla Rodriguez, on her birthday. Following an hour of de-escalation attempts, Rodriguez pointed a gun at deputies, prompting them to fire. Both were found dead at the scene. The incident is under investigation by the Tenth Judicial Circuit Officer Involved Deadly Incident Task Force.
