A UCLA study indicates a growing preference among adolescents for friendship over romance in media, with the desire for friendship-themed stories rising from 51.5% to 63.5%. Additionally, there's increased sentiment against sexual content for plot development, climbing from 47.5% to 62.4%. Interest in asexual and aromantic characters also grew, with 46% of teens expressing this desire, up from 39% last year.
