20% reduction in fentanyl-related poisoning deaths in Texas, linked to the "One Pill Kills" campaign.

Texas has seen a nearly 20% reduction in fentanyl-related poisoning deaths over the past year, according to Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Department of State Health Services. This decline, amounting to around 430 fewer deaths, follows the state's "One Pill Kills" campaign initiated in 2021, aimed at increasing awareness of fentanyl's dangers. Despite this progress, fentanyl-related deaths rose over 600% from 2019 to 2023, leading to over 7,000 fatalities.
