New Zealand assesses reactivating idled patrol vessel due to sinking of hydrographic ship.

This incident has left the navy with only five operational vessels, as three others are inactive due to staff shortages. An assessment to determine the necessary repairs for the patrol vessel will be completed by month’s end. Despite these challenges, the military is prepared for regional disaster response.
