2.5 million long-term foreign residents in South Korea, 4.8% of population, up by 16.6% migrant workers and 8.9% international students.

As of November 1, 2023, South Korea reached a record high of nearly 2.5 million long-term foreign residents, representing 4.8% of its 51.77 million population. This increase is largely due to a 16.6% rise in migrant workers and an 8.9% rise in international students. The number of foreign residents without Korean nationality rose by 10.4%, while those with Korean nationality increased by 4.8%. All regions outside Seoul saw over a 7% increase in foreign residents.
