An independent review of Baltimore's Department of Public Works (DPW) revealed significant deficiencies in heat safety protocols, following the heat-related death of worker Ronald Silver II. Conducted by Conn Maciel Carey LLC, the report highlighted the lack of a formal heat safety program, insufficient emergency procedures, and inadequate training. In response, DPW is implementing measures to improve safety protocols, training, and employee communication regarding concerns.
