Dornogovi province in Mongolia quarantines due to CCPP outbreak affecting 15,000 goats, first case since 1950s; vet services cull and disinfect.

Dornogovi province in southeastern Mongolia is under quarantine due to a contagious caprine pleuropneumonia (CCPP) outbreak, affecting approximately 15,000 goats in Khatanbulag and Khuvsgul soums. This disease, caused by Mycoplasma capricolum subsp. capripneumoniae, has not been seen in Mongolia since the 1950s. The General Authority for Veterinary Services is culling infected animals and disinfecting affected areas to contain the outbreak, crucial for the livestock-dependent economy.
