Andrews Tolman, a 76-year-old town official from Readfield, Maine, was fatally struck by a pickup truck on October 22 while crossing Main Street. After leaving the Readfield Historical Society, he tripped and fell into the roadway. A 2021 Dodge Ram 5500 traveling east did not see him and hit him. Authorities have ruled out speed and alcohol as contributing factors in the incident.
