The Chicago Blackhawks have activated 18-year-old defenseman Artyom Levshunov, the No. 2 pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, and assigned him to the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL after recovering from a fractured right foot. Levshunov had an impressive freshman year at Michigan State, earning accolades like Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. He signed a three-year entry-level contract with a cap hit of $975,000 in July and is expected to integrate quickly into the team.
