1st discovery of Cretaceous-period dinosaur fossils on Hong Kong's UNESCO Global Geopark Port Island.

Hong Kong officials have announced the first discovery of dinosaur fossils on Port Island, part of the city's UNESCO Global Geopark. The fossils, dating back 145 to 66 million years to the Cretaceous period, are believed to belong to a large dinosaur. Further studies are planned to identify the species. Port Island is now closed to the public for ongoing investigations, and the fossils will be displayed at the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre starting Friday.
